A different kinda payasa/kheer for your taste buds!!!
Ingredients:
Palak leaves - 100 gms
Seedless Dates - 50 gms
Milk - half a litre
Sugar - 100 gms
Cashews - 10
Badam/Almonds - 5
Bread crumbs - a handful
Ghee - 2 tsps
Elachi - 1 tsp
Method:
Clean the spinach leaves & blanch them for a min in boiling water. Drain the hot water & run cold water on it & allow it to air dry a little. Now make a smooth paste of the blanched spinach leaves & the Seedless dates. Add the bread crumbs to this paste & mix well & form small marble sized balls of it. Shallow fry these spinach balls in Ghee until golden brown, remove from heat.
Make a smooth paste of Cashew & Badam along with a bit of milk. Add this to the remaining milk & sugar & boil it until the milk thickens a little. Remove from heat, add the elachi pwd & the fried spinach balls & serve hot.
